Barbara
Vargas

Versatile dancer and educator, Barbara Vargas's wide variety of performance experience locally and internationally allows her to jump into many different types of projects, from playing Rhoda in the Musical White Christmas, to a Tap Dance percussionist in the Mary Lee Bird Band and Generations. She was a leader in the Edmonton community for years, as co-founder of Breaking Barres, a company dedicated to creating a tap community in Edmonton, before embarking on a journey to Vancouver. While in Vancouver Barbara attended Vancouver Community College's contemporary music diploma program, using her tap shoes as her major instrument. She also held various positions of leadership at the Vancouver Tap Dance Society, was an Artist in Resident with the Vancouver Public School Board, and traveled across BC with ReachOut Psychosis. She is excited to be back in Edmonton to share, learn, and grow with her people.
