Kristian is a pianist, composer and electroacoustic artist in Toronto. An avid collaborator with dance, he has performed with Rhythm&Sound, Travis Knights, Derek K Grant, The Rhythm Ensemble, and at festivals such as Toronto International Tap Dance Festival, Eastern Canadian Tap Conference. Outside of dance, he performs with Contact Contemporary Music, Cor Unum Baroque Ensemble and as a duo with violinist Nelson Moneo, as well as leading his own jazz groups. He is Spectrum’s 2017 Composer-in-Residence. He has written for Spectrum, Tafelmusik, Alice Hwang, 4uartet, with performances at the Canadian Music Centre, Glenn Gould School at the Royal Conservatory, and Walter Hall at U of T. Kristian studied piano and composition at UofT and is an alumni of the School of Improv (NYC), Toronto Creative Music Lab, Waterloo-Region Contemporary Music Sessions, Music from Scratch, and Tafelmusik Baroque Summer Institute festivals.An avid teacher, students attended Humber College, Etobicoke School of the Arts, Rosedale Heights School of the Arts.
